Toptech Systems Accepts The BE GREAT Award From The Boys & Girls Clubs Of Central Florida

Toptech Systems does not just work to make a positive impact on their customers but is passionate about making an impact within their community.
Community involvement is an important corporate objective for Toptech Systems. Over the years, they’ve worked to provide food and clothing for the Central Florida homeless community, provide gifts for local underprivileged children during the holidays, and more recently, enrich the lives of Seminole County youth through their support of Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida (BGCCF). On February 5, 2015, Toptech was proud to accept the BE GREAT Award from BGCCF at their Annual Meeting. The award is given each year to a community partner that inspires the children to reach their full potential and to BE GREAT. Toptech was selected from a wide variety of corporate partners from across the 4 counties that engage with the 30 Clubs and more than 13,000 children served by BGCCF each year.

Alicia Hodge, Development Officer for the Seminole County Clubs commented that “Toptech Systems is truly making a difference in the lives of our youth. The support of all the employees at Toptech is overwhelming and has made our program even stronger. They’ve been a great example of how corporations can make giving back a priority.” Brad Williams, President of the IDEX Energy and Fuels Midstream Group, joined the Seminole County Boys & Girls Clubs board in July, 2014. “Once I participated in a Boys & Girls Club event with IDEX Corporation in Lake Forest, IL, I knew we could make a positive impact that would shape the lives of the children in Central Florida.”

Toptech Systems immediately formed an internal committee to spearhead efforts with the children and work directly with BGCCF leadership to determine the activities that would truly be high-impact. The team built a 12 month rolling calendar of events that was a balance of giving time, money, fundraising and sweat equity. One of the most rewarding ways Toptech works with the kids is by offering homework help at the East Altamonte Branch once a month. Says Brad Williams, “Seeing the kids’ excitement and the exceptional talents they have when we interact with them at parties, homework sessions or fundraisers is a strong reminder of why Toptech is dedicated to helping BGCCF.”

Toptech Systems is proud of what they accomplished in 2014 and excited about bigger and better things to come in 2015. To that end, Toptech Systems and IDEX Corporation have committed to remodeling the teen room at the East Altamonte Branch. Each weekday, about 30 teenagers come through that Club’s doors, just happy to have a safe environment to spend time. Unfortunately, the equipment is old and the teen room is lackluster. Toptech has plans to create a safe haven that will inspire the teens to reach their full potential and attract even more Club members to attend the Club. This project is scheduled for completion in April, 2015 and is just one item on their extensive calendar of activities planned for the year.
