This international engineering and integration firm partnered with Toptech Systems on an initiative for a state-owned oil company in Latin America, who outputs over 4,000 barrels a day.
Problem
The customer is the largest producer in their region, refining, transporting, and storing oil and gas to 80% of their entire market. As the product owner, their business depends on a reliable flow of fuel from their twenty terminals to their customers.
That flow was often interrupted at the terminals when their presets failed. The preset vendor could not provide adequate customer service. When outages occurred, the customer faced long lead times for replacement parts. Often, when they arrived, these replacement parts created more problems in the equipment.
Solution
When business disruption and reliability continued to be a problem, the customer chose the integrator, who worked with Toptech to complete a pilot project. This initial phase involved replacing the outdated presets at the customer’s terminal with Toptech System’s new state-of-the-art batch controller – the Multiload II+.
Instead of the typical 20-week delivery lead timeframe of the previous preset vendor, Toptech was able to deliver in a fraction of that time. Plus, easy access to interchangeable Multiload II+ components further decreases the risk of outages.
The customer was so impressed, they’ve expanded the pilot project to include implementing Toptech’s TMS7 terminal management software platform. TMS7 helps terminal owners better manage their terminal operations and improve their business efficiencies. After completing the pilot, the plan is to scale the solution to an additional nine terminals.
